Giorgi Shagidze is the CEO of maib , the largest commercial bank in Moldova. Giorgi’s 25-year experience in banking gained at TBC Bank in Georgia, Barclays bank in London and Dubai, and TBC’s start-up challenger bank in Uzbekistan, helped shape the renewed strategy for maib since he joined 2.5 years ago.
At maib he upscaled the digital projects, implemented the agile way of working, enhanced the focus on people and technology, and launched the cultural transformation with strong financial results. He holds an MBA from Cambridge University, SEP Stanford Graduate School of Business, a Master’s degree in Engineering from Tbilisi State University, and is CFA certified.
